King’s Lodge Care Home is led by the exceptional Sarah-Jane Parkin and Sarah Stobart. Between them they have over four decades of experience and have been long standing leaders of the Aura Care Living team.

We specialise in nursing, dementia and residential care. Our peaceful and beautiful surroundings help ensure a sanctuary of calm for residents and their families.

Sarah-Jane Parkin

Manager

Sarah-Jane is a Registered Mental Health Nurse by profession and has worked in various Health and social care settings for her entire adult life and her passion is shown in her work. With over 40 years in the industry, Sarah-Jane has led Kings Lodge to be rated “Good” across all 5 fields by the CQC and has made Kings Lodge the best care home throughout Surrey.

Qualifying as a nurse in 2012 , I have spent the last 12years, working in various different care settings, looking after complex Nursing residents. I am a very caring and compassionate person and specialise in End of Life care, advocating for dignity and empathy for residents and their loved ones.

I love working as part of a large team and passing on my knowledge and guidance to carers, who wish to progress in their care career. I am a mum to 2 very energetic boys, who keep me on my toes all the time and are my greatest achievement. Working on Falcon, has introduced me to so many wonderful families and I appreciate them all for their continuedsupport and appreciation.

What do I love about my role? That feeling of knowing that no matter how large or small, you’ve made someone’s day. I enjoy being creative and implementing activities that take the residents back to a personal memory. It gives me great pleasure in just making someone happy and laughing.

Favourite Activity – I created this activity and love to “dress the scene” and set the mood. “The Blind Barber” was so popular that the gentleman now have it feature every week. I also get great pleasure in taking the residents for a walk or push to see my horses.

I’m a qualified Art Restorer & Art Consultant and ran my own business for 5 Years. Pre-Covid and managed a gallery for 15 years.

Keen Equestrian, Military back-ground & have competed for both RHA & HCMD. I have a love of the outdoors and keeping active is an absolute passion with rugby and golf leading as some of my favourite sports!

I joined Kings Lodge in March 2020, after a 15 years career in Retail Management and running my own business as a Cake Decorator, which is also a big hobby of mine.

Due to the start of the Covid Pandemic, my business had to be put on hold and I was then offered a role in Activities at Kings Lodge, then Reception and Administration. It was great to be in a role where I felt like I was “giving back” and making a difference, so to speak. I enjoy the interaction with both relatives and residents. It is a very rewarding role.

My spare time is taken up with being a new mum to a lively little man and having quality family time. I enjoy walking my dog and keeping fit. I still make time for baking and making celebratory cakes.

I started working at Kings Lodge from 6^th January 2019 to present. Just over 5 years.

My previous experience.

I use to work for a large Corporate Care Company.

I worked there for 18 years as The Administrator. I retired from this position in June 2018.

Had six months off work but couldn’t settle to retirement so applied to join Kings Lodge. I really enjoy my job with lots of various duties.

When I retire yet again I hope to move to the Isle of Wight with my dogs.

Kings Lodge has been my home for the last 5 years and I am very grateful for the opportunity they have given me. We are a great team of people who all have one thing in common, we care. I specialise in elderly care and take great pride in treating everyone with respect. I am always eager to keep learning and gaining new experiences, as I believe in striving for excellence. I have 2 beautiful daughters, who are my world and I hope that they follow in my path, to look after people and give back to the world in any way that they can.

With over 15 years’ experience in healthcare management, I’ve led large teams in Accident & Emergency, overseeing both administrative and medical staff while managing multi-million-pound budgets. My work has involved close collaboration with Local Authorities, Primary Care Groups, Consultants and emergency services, as well as contributing to patient confidentiality and risk management at board level. I also spent four years as a Deputy Practice Manager in a busy GP surgery, where I worked directly with healthcare professionals and patients, handling everything from referrals and treatment programmes to complex administrative and mental health challenges.

For the past nine years, I’ve specialised in dementia care as a Business Administrator and Front of House Receptionist. In this role, I’ve been responsible for HR, contracts, invoicing, staff training and day-to-day operational support, always with a focus on providing a smooth experience for residents, families and colleagues. My career has been built on a passion for supporting patients, carers and staff, with a strong commitment to organisation, compassion and confidentiality.
